9 Months

Henry is 9 months old today!  His check up is tomorrow morning, so don't have any official measurements tonight.  But we did squeeze in a quick photo shoot after work, even though he is one tired boy, only having one nap today at school.  He is a good sport!

We are very excited for Nana and Papa to visit this weekend!  The weather is supposed to be pretty gross, so we are thinking about hitting a museum and/or the aquarium.  I think Henry would really enjoy that kind of an outing now. He is an extremely active, curious boy.  And he's pretty silly lately, too. :-)

He still only has the two bottom middle teeth, but it would appear that he is working on some more this week.  We shall see!  He is pulling to a stand, crawling, and climbing up and over anything he can.  We have yet to find a food he doesn't like.  He prefers finger foods to purees but will humor me with the spoon practice.  Pretty much a rock star all around!

Don't you think I'm getting too big for the sign-on-the-blanket thing, Mom?

Upon closer inspection, this is nice work, lady.

Oh, hi!
Ha ha ha - Daddy thinks I'm going to be a Cubs fan.  Sucker!
Baby party!  Now, which one do you suppose is the Montessori child?

That's more like it!

Spring!

Spring has sprung in Colorado!  I thought I'd just do a quick update while I have a minute. . .

Henry is. . .crawling, pulling to a stand on everything, saying mama and dada, very into silliness, jumping, laughing at Lacy, and attempting to sleep all night long.  :-)

The ladies at school did my hair today!

SPF is my friend

Bathtime is pretty much my favorite thing ever!

Look at me stand!

8 Months - Happy Easter!

Henry is was 8 months old today yesterday - 2/3 of a year!  He is becoming more and more of a little man all the time.  Lately we've been having some issues with sleeping at night, and I'm suspecting a bit of separation anxiety setting in.  He usually goes down normally, but around 3am he wants to snuggle.  But he's still the same loveable, fun boy all day long, so I guess a little sleep loss isn't too bad considering.

Henry started crawling on March 29th.  I was home with him in the evening while Chad made one more run from our old place and suddenly he decided he wanted the remote control which was sitting on the floor.  I thought for sure that he had done it that day at school but I asked, and they said he had been very close but didn't have the arms down.  Well, he certainly has them down now!  One night this week when I picked him up from school he was sitting on the floor and when he saw me he crawled over to me.  That was pretty cool.

He is starting to make the gradual switch to formula, and has been trying all kinds of new solid food as well.  So far he really only has an issue with strong citrus fruit.  He still loves bananas, avocados, and veggies, and this week he tried a muffin, tortilla, and pretzels at school.  He even tried some grilled chicken from my salad at lunch yesterday and it was a hit.

Henry is also into toys that make noise when shaken, and strings of all kinds.  He also likes blocks, and banging them on things to make noise.  We got him a "car" yesterday - a walker that looks like a little car complete with steering wheel.  He isn't quite touching the ground yet, but he does love to hit the horn, and even responded by doing that when I asked him about the "beep beep" today.  He thinks it's pretty cool, and we feel the same way about him.

UPDATE: I wrote this last night, and am finally uploading the pics tonight, and now I can add that Henry is apparently pulling up to a stand now as this JUST happened.  Babies, man.

Test two

I can't caption photos, apparently, but here are a few to hold people over until I have a couple of hours to spare. I will try to edit/update from a computer soon.

In short, we moved this weekend and are still busy getting settled in the new house and completely out of the old. Henry is THISCLOSE to crawling and eating all kinds of fun stuff. Loves: green beans, being naked, his pets, when Mommy dances, and tickles under the chin. Hates: peaches.

We are loving our new living space, especially Lacy who has her own fenced yard for the first time. We feel like we are finally truly living the dream!

6 months, 11 days

Well, we just had too much fun last weekend so I didn't get a post up.  But I have plenty of pictures this week!

Henry continues to change every day.  He is now on the verge of crawling and has completely mastered sitting up (when placed) on his own.  He is really into planking and scooting backwards when on his tummy, and frequently pulls one knee in, so it's only a matter of time before we have forward movement, I'm sure.  He is also really enjoying shrieking at full volume, but it's usually only in the evening for some reason.  He has been eating rice cereal once per day at school, and he is getting the hang of solids.  He tried and liked carrots last weekend and roasted butternut squash today.  Next weekend we'll try a green veggie.

He had his 6 month doctor visit, complete with shots, and passed with flying colors.  He has dropped to the 21st percentile for weight, but had been teething and getting over some minor sniffles, so his appetite had been down.  He's been eating like it's his job this weekend, so I'm betting he's back up in the 30-40 range soon.  He's still around 50 for height, and is pretty proportional all around, which is what they want.  He scored in the high normal range for his development, except he was normal for fine motor.  We will start working on the pincer grasp next.

Henry has recently really shown interest in our pets, and has grabbed a faceful of Sam's fur a couple of times.  He loves looking in the mirror, and toys that move and have blinking lights and sounds.  Oh, and remotes and iphones, which he's not yet allowed to have.  He spends a lot of time taking things in and concentrating, but we do get some giggles now and then, too.  He still follows a predictable schedule, usually falling asleep around 7:15, and getting up only to eat around 10-11, and again around 2-4am.  He is FANTASTIC at staying on task and going right back to sleep, which is much appreciated.  Overall he's still a wonderful baby and we can't imagine life without the joy he brings us.

Half Birthday!

Yeehaw!

Seriously, yee haw.

That cat is photobombing me again, isn't he?

Love my caterpillar!

Hey, this is my friend Winston!  He is 1.5 months younger and way bigger than me!

Dude, be cool.

WHAT?!?

We'll talk later, when the 'rents aren't around.

So, carrots.  Not so bad.

Here's my tongue.

Hey, Valentine's mail from Great Grandma!

Heh.  Hi, Mom.

Yeah, this is good times, hanging on the train quilt.

Are you telling me I'm sitting up all by myself?

I love this card!  Thanks, Great Grandma!

Don't bother me.  I'm. . .I'm thinking.

Yep, that's my name.  But you can call me cute.

Hey, Mommy!

You are silly.

Don't be too jealous of these lashes.

Demonstrating the baby plank.  Yogi in training.

Sideways giggles.
